Once upon a time it was not good enough for her. She’s been a grown up for decades and could not stand the tales told from page one. It was always that same old story again and again when everything was not the same anymore and all the characters had been moved, improved. So she decided not to take it one more time.
The Big Bad Wolf had finally found one of his kind to share the woods with him and he could finally make peace with Grandma. Little Red Riding Hood always suffered from the lack of a male authority figure in her life, and now that she was a lady she was finally realizing how bad it was. She’s been told not to do things that she found herself doing later than people could ever imagine, she never understood until now, why and how pleasure was forbidden for her and everybody else. The poisoned apple tale was another one and she made friends with the forbidden parts of herself.
The woman in the forest was learning with her fears, petting the wolf who’d become her best friend. Every twisted way in the dark woods, every time she was afraid, she ran towards the forest to pet that wolf. Facing her fears, she became very similar to him, she understood how overrated evil was and that beast that lived so near was actually a cutie! She developed a sense of tenderness towards her friendly beast. She’d turned the story around.
Heavy expressions on her face, a strong presence, dark and straight fur in her arms and fingers, a certain mystery in her eyes and a strong sense of personality made her a little wolf lady. But all of that stuff without any protection male directions made her sexed up instead of loved up. She never had a father figure to tell her she was his pretty girl, which would have made her feel protected. She never felt protected, so she never knew what to be loved was like. Instead, she kept forcing men out of her life, because she was so independent and friends with her own beast. She made very clear that in case they ever hurt her, she controlled the beast and that the beast attacks under her command. They guys were always very scared of her, also they felt like she didn’t need them, when that was not the whole truth. What was wrong about being strong but sensitive? People didn’t seem to understand that she could be both. That she was strong because she was a survivor, she learned how to take care of herself, but she also wanted a little loving from the external world. She wanted to be appreciated, she wanted to be caressed and hugged and admired and loved, for gods sakes!
She heard a very charming and single prince lived across the country, and she felt very impulsive about going after him, but she stayed quiet. Kind of an animal instinct she was following, like the first times the wolf wanted to attract her to his side... She felt this time had to be different and that their ways had to be crossed somehow, and he needed to show some interest, and he would have to show some effort to be with her, so she could finally feel like a lady.
From that point on, her tale would have to be told differently and maybe even change names to Lady Red Riding Hood, owner of her own fate but still... A girl.
